The Beginning

Hi,

Thanks for reading my blog. This is my story about ho’oponopono. For those of you that don’t know what that is, I guess I should start at the beginning.

Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian problem solving art that has been modified for the individual. Before to practice it, one had to be part of a group, now you can practice it just yourself.

In December, my journey started after reading Zero Limits by Joe Vitale. Reading this book showed me that I am responsible for my own life. I am 100% responsible for all the trouble, all the debt, all the headaches in my life. Me, not society, not my parents, me!

That was pretty heavy, and it took me a long time to accept. But accept I did.

Basically ho’oponopono is the process of removing all the bad data we have inside ourselves and to clean our energy to connect with the universe, or God as I like to call Him.

When we are angry, or upset we are reacting to the bad data or memories that are stored in our minds. We have 100s of years of bad data in our minds. These memories come from our fathers, grandfathers, and ancestors. And if these memories aren’t clean they are there forever as a cycle. And we are always reacting to them.

For example, say I am dating a guy who I think has a lot of baggage and I decide to dump him. Guess what, the problem is with me, not the guy. The problem is a bad memory inside myself. So until I clean on it, the next guy I am going to date is going to have the same baggage. End of story.

So until we take responsibility and start erasing some of these bad memories, the same stuff is going to keep turning up again and again in our lives.

I know that perhaps this seems right out there to you, and I am sure it might. But I suggest you start with Joe Vitale’s book and go from there. Ho’oponopono deals with the heart, it’s about how you feel. If it doesn’t feel right to you, perhaps it’s not your solution.

To me, ho’oponopono works, and I have been practicing since December 2007. So thanks to Dr. Hew Len, and Joe Vitale. Dr. Hew Len is one of the founders of Self-identity ho’oponopono. He drew attention when after 3 years he cured a ward of insane criminals in the Hawaiian Mental Institution. He cured them by not seeing one of them, but by cleaning the bad data or memories inside himself.

Basically ho’oponopono is simple. By cleaning and erasing your memories, you open yourself up to inspiration, God, and you can hear His messages, or what your path should be. Whenever we resist God, we are telling Him we are okay and don’t need his guidance.

Okay, I bet you wondering how you should clean. Well I’m not a ho’oponopono expert, everyone has a different style. But one way to clean is by saying the prayer, “I love you, I’m sorry, thank you.” Say this over and over. Whenever you find yourself upset, whenever you find yourself reacting and not cleaning. Basically if you are reacting, you are not cleaning.

Peace begins with me!
